Condo Insurance protects your home and personal property from various perils.

Your condo association has a master policy that covers the exterior of the building, the common areas, and usually the unit balconies. What’s not covered in this policy is the interior of your unit included, but not limited to, floors, interior walls, kitchen, bathrooms, and appliances.  Also not covered in the master policy is your personal property or your personal liability to others.

Useful information:

  • Dwelling, or additions and alterations coverage protects the inside of the unit including your floors, kitchens, bathrooms and appliances.
  • Personal Property coverage protects your contents, including but not limited to, furniture, rugs, electronics, or general personal belongings.
  • Loss of Use coverage pays for additional living expenses during the time your condo unit is being repaired at the time of a claim.
  • Liability coverage protects you if you are sued and found legally responsible bodily injury caused to others or property damage to another unit in the building.
  • Personal Property Replacement Cost protects your personal belongings and at the time of claim without any depreciation.  Replacement cost is essentially new for old, regardless of the condition of your personal property.
